When submitting artwork, please make sure to follow all the recommendations on this page to help ensure the best quality imprint for your product. Any artwork that does not meet these specifications may require additional production time, charges and may cause delays in production of the final flexible packaging product.
Acceptable File Formats
Vector art is highly recommended for all artwork.
- Adobe Illustrator (*.ai) – CS6 preferred
- Encapsulated Post Script (*.eps)
- Portable Document Format (*.pdf)
Fonts
If fonts are not included with files, all text must be converted to outlines. Outlined fonts cannot be changed or edited. Outlined fonts ensure no loss in submitted artwork’s original appearance.
Colors and Resolution
All artwork must be in CMYK format – RGB not acceptable. Black & White artwork must be provided in GRAYSCALE format. Keep all files layered and artwork resolution must be at least 300 dpi at 100% in size or there will be a substantial drop in image quality.
Bleed
Artwork must extend at least 1/8 inch beyond the die line on each side. Allow for a 1/8 inch print margin inside the die line.
Additional Information for Hot Stamp Printing
If vector art cannot be provided, we do accept artwork in at least 300 dpi grayscale at 100% in size with at least 1 point stroke (2 point stroke for reverse out printing). Halftone artwork is not recommended. 2 color maximum with 1/16 inch spacing between colors.
Additional Information for Rotogravure Printing
For rotogravure printing, all PANTONE colors will be converted to solid coated colors, including any spot colors. White and/or matte are treated as separate colors(s) and must be included as both a spot color(s) in your color palette. Indicate any clear knockout (window areas) to avoid any misunderstanding. 9 color maximum. Tint ranges: 30-80%. Minimum line thickness: 0.5 pt.
Adjustments to the original artwork may be necessary to meet standard production guidelines (ie. similar colors, white text outline, etc).
Additional Information for Flexo Printing
Artwork should be designed to allow for a 1 pt trap for overprints. Minimum line thickness – Text: 4 pt, Lines: 0.75 pt. Reverse type may be stroked to compensate for fill-in during printing. Artwork will be adjusted to meet standard production guidelines (trapped, set screens and compensation for dot grains, and distorted to compensate for “plate gain” or stretch). 8 color maximum (including varnish). Tint ranges: 20-80%. Maximum line: 155 line. Plate movement tolerance: ą 1/16 inch.
